THE MODLUX TEAM IS GROWING

Owner & Principal Designer, Desiree Ross, launched MODLUX INTERIORS several years ago in downtown Campbell River, BC and with the amazing support of the local community her dream of owning her own design firm took off - but there is only so much one woman can do... so the MODLUX team has grown by two additional team members!

When Desiree was exploring expanding the MODLUX team, one of her key goals was to create a team of empowered women and work towards becoming the leading female design firm on the north island.

Meet the new team members below!

Sian Porter

Architectural Technologist

Sian was born and raised in Northern Ireland and moved to the west coast of Canada in 2015, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree. As an architectural designer and technologist, Sian has worked on both the east and west coasts of Canada in many sectors, including mixed-use residential, healthcare, retail, commercial, government and education.

Sian is passionate about the holistic bringing together of a client’s dreams, ideas, and goals. Through thoughtful and considerate design, Sian always aims to balance functionality with efficiency, sustainability, and affordability. Sian is motivated by making a tangible and positive impact on the lives of people, especially those in the local community, by designing and creating spaces that bring joy, comfort, and harmony.

When she’s not designing and creating, Sian likes to spend time working on her hobbies. She loves running along the sea walk on early mornings, rollerblading on the weekends and working her life-long dream - learning to play the drums.

Renae Leboe

Business Development & Office Manager

Renae was born and raised in the interior of British Columbia. After graduating from UBC Okanagan with a Bachelor of Fine Art where she studied compositional and design theory she moved to the west coast with the goal of calling the island home. In her graduate studies, Renae's research focused on organizational theory and the power of space/place on behaviour and community.

Renae is fascinated by intentional architecture and design - which can foster wellbeing, connection and even productivity at home or in the workplace.

When she is not busy helping keep MODLUX organized and running smoothly, Renae is usually working on her own home renovations or out in the mountains camping year round with her dog and husband in tow.
